One of the youngest in the industry, our aircraft are mainly equipped with Garmin 1000 Electronic Flight Instruments (EFIS) which reflect the avionics technology found on an airliner flight deck. To enhance the safety of our airborne training, we have also specified the very latest version of the airline style Traffic Advisory System (TAS) to provide our pilots with an ‘extra pair of eyes and ears’ in the cockpit.

Diamond DA42 Twinstar – 17 in fleet

The DA42 is the most technologically advanced light training twin aircraft available today; representing the latest in airframe design, avionics capability and new engine technology.


The diesel engine makes this aircraft an environmentally friendly alternative and the Garmin 1000 glass cockpit with Traffic Advisory System (TAS) environment provides the most relevant preparation for the type of aircraft our trainees are likely to fly.


The engines are computer controlled through ‘fly by wire’ digital throttles eliminating the need for the traditional 6-engine control levers used on more conventional light twin aircraft (throttle, mixture and rpm levers for each engine). This single-lever operation is just like the engine controls found on jet airliners.

The DA40 is an excellent trainer for aspiring airline pilots. You’ll be impressed by the DA40 – its quickness off the runway, the crisp response of the pushrod actuated controls, and the stunning panoramic visibility out of the bubble canopy.


The extremely capable Garmin 1000 WAAS certified glass cockpit gives you unparalleled information at your fingertips. Trainee pilots will take comfort in the large moving map, traffic and terrain information. You will enjoy how easy it is to put the digital Garmin GFC 700 autopilot through its paces for procedure turns and instrument approaches, especially into unfamiliar airports.

Diamond DA20 Katana – 14 in fleet

The DA20 is an excellent training aircraft for new pilots. This aircraft features a responsive center-stick control that provides exemplary handling. Visibility and safety are enhanced with a wrap-around canopy that affords great referencing to the natural horizon to develop fundamental flying techniques. The DA20 is environmentally friendly with a 20lt/hr fuel burn, its performance is impressive with 1000 fpm climb rate and 120kt cruise. This aircraft strikes the right balance in providing the trainee with a responsive feel and the performance to match.

Cessna 172 Skyhawk – 16 in fleet

The Cessna C172 Skyhawk is an exceptionally well-proven and reliable training aircraft. Cessna’s classic high-wing design offers many practical benefits, including stable flight characteristics.


We use 172s for both basic and advanced flight navigation training. Our Cessna 172s are equipped with the Garmin 1000 and Traffic Advisory System (TAS) avionics suite.

This ‘glass cockpit’ design is identical to the avionics suite found in the twin-engine DA42 and is very similar to that found on modern jet aircraft.

Slingsby Firefly – 2 in fleet

The Firefly, made in glass reinforced plastic (GRP) by Slingsby Aviation in Yorkshire, is a single piston-engined aircraft with a 260 hp Textron-Lycoming engine, which drives a three-blade, constant speed, composite propeller. The Firefly is fitted with side-by-side dual controls, a fixed windscreen and a backward-tilting canopy incorporating direct ventilation windows and fresh-air scoops.


Whilst we use it for Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), its instrumentation and communications equipment also allows it to be flown along airways and the aircraft is cleared for instrument flying and night flying.


The aircraft is fully aerobatic and can easily maintain height during an aerobatic sequence. The aircraft also has fuel and oil systems capable of sustaining inverted flight.
