CRAWLEY, U.K., October 31, 2017 – L3 Commercial Training Solutions (L3 CTS) announced today that graduates from its flagship Airline Pilot career program, the Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), have been selected to launch their career with Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe.
These successful graduates will complete the Wizz Air A320 type rating at L3 CTS’s Southampton Training Center before starting their exciting professional flying career, commuting over the extensive Wizz network or operating from one of Wizz Air’s 28 European bases.
L3 CTS has worked with the airline to provide airline pilot training and career opportunities for preselected aspiring Wizz Air pilots since launching the Wizz Air Cadet program in 2015. However, this latest announcement introduces further opportunities specifically for pilots graduating from L3’s Integrated ATPL program.
“We are delighted to offer our graduating pilots the fantastic opportunity to launch their Airline Pilot career with Wizz Air, an exciting and growing airline,” said Robin Glover-Faure, Acting President of L3 CTS. “Opportunities like these illustrate the expanding range of possibilities available to aspiring pilots through our Airline Academy, and we are proud of our ability to support Wizz Air by providing the highest-caliber pilots in the industry.”
József Ujhelyi, Chief Flight Operations Officer at Wizz Air, commented, “In 2018, we look forward to receiving our 100th aircraft, as well as creating 1,300 incremental jobs by the end of the year, while continuing to expand our network and increase the number of routes we operate across Europe. Our relationship with L3 CTS represents our commitment to investing in talent to support our strategic growth plan.”
L3 CTS works closely with airlines around the globe to deliver airline pilot training and resourcing services. In turn, the organization provides outstanding airline pilot career opportunities for newly qualified pilots with market-leading commercial carriers through its dedicated graduate placement service.
